Couples Therapy
Dr. Karr has his own long-term relationship of twenty-six long committed years. He is a supporter and believer in relationships. He also sadly has his function of couple's mediation and has mediated the ending of many un-healthy relationships. He has over twenty-five years of experience including sex therapy. He perceives couple therapy as short-tern of up to three to six months. He works with couples to establish their goals and issues. He utilizes homework, readings and other assignments to facilitate couples learning to be their own therapists. He teaches them better methods of communication, of conflict resolution, of anger resolution, of honesty and sensitivity. Homework is especially an important part of couple's therapy. Dr. Karr has a non-judgmental approach and has worked with facilitating a number of committed relationships including three-way relationships, hetero-sexual, and Gay-Lesbian relationships, inter-cultural and inter-racial relationships, relationships involving age differences (not pedophilia), open and closed relationships, and alternative lifestyle relationships such as S&M, leather, bondage and discipline.
